Ascent Hospitality is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the hotel’s daily financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and enforce policy compliance. You will work with corporate accounting and property leadership to uphold financial integrity and achieve goals.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and at least three years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, with supervisory responsibilities and GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, hospitality preferred.
• Supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards.
• Strong analytical and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations: accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and review financial statements in line with company policies and standards.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting for financial stability.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheets.
• Support audits and provide timely financial data to leadership.
• Supervise accounting staff and provide guidance for development.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal controls.
• Collaborate with department managers on financial decision-making.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to company policies. This position works closely with the corporate accounting team and property leadership to maintain financial integrity and support the hotel’s financial goals.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure financial stability.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data to corporate leadership.
• Supervise and train accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Work collaboratively with department managers to support financial decision-making.
• Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasionally required to lift or move up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to navigate the hotel property as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
