Ascent Hospitality is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to be our Accounting Manager!
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to company policies. This position works closely with the corporate accounting team and property leadership to maintain financial integrity and support the hotel’s financial goals.

Essential Functions:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure financial stability.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data to corporate leadership.
- Supervise and train accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Work collaboratively with department managers to support financial decision-making.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial management tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of hospitality accounting practices is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasionally required to lift or move up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to navigate the hotel property as needed.
Qualification Standards:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards.
