Job summary

Magna Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced hotel accounting professional to oversee the accounting and reporting functions for a select number of properties within our portfolio.

The role focuses on preparing monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, and sales tax returns while handling financial analysis for balance sheet, income, and expense accounts. You will support the VP of Accounting and assist with budgets, forecasts, and audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum hotel accounting experience in a multi-property environment.
• Ability to read and understand general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement reports.
• Understanding of bank reconciliation and sales tax filing processes.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex worksheet development).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic hotel accounting professional to oversee the accounting/reporting functions for a select number of properties within our portfolio.

What you will be doing

• This position is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, and sales tax returns
• Will handle the accounting and multiple financial Account analysis for balance sheet, income, and expense accounts.
• Provide accounting and finance support to the VP of Accounting.
• Analyze monthly financial statements
• Provide support to external auditors during reviews and audits
• Assist with annual budgets and forecasts

The ideal candidate for this position

• Multi-Site Hotel experience required
• Ability to read and understand the general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement financial reports
• Understanding of bank reconciliation and sales tax filing
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed
• Strong Microsoft Excel application skills and knowledge with complex worksheet development experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Experience with Sage, Peachtree, IntAcct, and Profitsword systems preferred
• Detail-oriented, organized, relational problem-solving abilities
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Independent thinker with the ability to apply complex concepts
• Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines
