Job summary

Satellite Shelters Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager in Minneapolis to oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Special Billings and Compliance, leading a team of 10+ reports and reporting to the Controller.

The role focuses on optimizing back-office processes, improving KPIs, and ensuring GAAP compliance within a dynamic construction/rental environment. Strong data analysis, staff development, and collaboration with internal stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience; CPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; leasing/rental accounting experience a plus.
• Proven experience improving back-office processes.
• Strong data analysis skills; comfortable with large datasets.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Construction industry experience is a plus.

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager oversees the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Special Billings, and Compliance functions, leading a team of 10+ direct reports. This role is a key part of the finance team and reports directly to the Controller.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Supervise the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Special Billings functions
• Hire, train, and develop accounting staff; conduct performance reviews for direct reports
• Monitor and manage AR and AP KPIs
• Lead initiatives to improve AP/AR workflows and internal controls

• Manage local compliance requirements

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in Business with equivalent accounting experience
• 7+ years of experience; public accounting experience and CPA license preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, with a preference for leasing/rental accounting experience
• Proven experience improving and evolving back-office processes and procedures
• Strong data analysis skills; comfortable working with large datasets
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central preferred
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel
• Construction industry experience a plus
