Job summary

Satellite Shelters is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee AR/AP, special billings, and compliance, leading a team of 10+ professionals. This role reports to the Controller and drives back-office improvements across finance functions in a dynamic environment.

A CPA and public accounting exposure are valued, with heavy emphasis on GAAP and data analysis. The position offers growth within a stable organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with equivalent accounting experience.
• 7+ years experience; public accounting experience and CPA license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, with a preference for leasing/rental accounting experience.
• Proven experience improving and evolving back-office processes and procedures.
• Strong data analysis skills; comfortable working with large datasets.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Construction industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Special Billings functions.
• Hire, train, and develop accounting staff; conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
• Monitor and manage AR and AP KPIs.
• Lead initiatives to improve AP/AR workflows and internal controls.
• Prepare work papers for the year-end audit.
• Manage local compliance requirements.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Special Billings functions
• Hire, train, and develop accounting staff; conduct performance reviews for direct reports
• Monitor and manage AR and AP KPIs

Physical/Mental Demands:
