Job summary

Abacus Group, LLC is seeking an Accounting Manager for our Leesburg, VA office to lead month-end close, ensure accurate financial reporting, and enforce GAAP policies.

You will oversee reconciliations, complex accounting matters (leases and consolidations), and cross-functional coordination for data integrity and operational alignment. Mentoring the accounting team and driving process improvements are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of corporate accounting experience.
• Technical exposure to consolidations and leases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts while maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Support technical accounting matters, including lease accounting, consolidations, and other complex accounting transactions.
• Oversee fixed assets, revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and related financial activities.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts by preparing and reviewing reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost allocations, and operational alignment.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required documentation and facilitating successful audit completion.
• Enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and controls.
• Mentor and develop accounting team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control policies.
