Job summary

CRB Group is seeking an Accounting Manager in Kansas City, MO for a hybrid role. You will lead the accounting team, ensure accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP, and partner with business units to analyze variances. The position emphasizes mentorship, internal controls, and continuous process improvement.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. Travel is occasional, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (public or private).
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership and staff development.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, project accounting, and general ledger functions.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals through performance reviews and career development planning.
• Provide training, mentorship, and leadership to foster continuous learning and growth.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes and journal entries.
• Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements with BU leaders.
• Review reconciliations and support staff in resolving discrepancies.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Support external audits, tax engagements, and system implementations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Partner with Finance Business Partners to analyze budget and forecast variances.

Location: Kansas City, MO - Hybrid schedule (In office three days per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Proficiency inMicrosoft Office Suite; experience withMicrosoft Dynamics 365is a plus
