Wegner CPAs Client Recruiting Services is helping a manufacturing operation in Janesville, Wisconsin hire an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee general accounting, monthly close, inventory and manufacturing cost accounting, financial reporting, and AP/AR oversight.

The role reports to the Controller and emphasizes hands-on involvement in operations, process improvement, and staff supervision. A strong background in manufacturing accounting and cost analysis is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Inventory and cost accounting experience highly desirable.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in the monthly and year-end financial close process.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements.
• Manage inventory accounting and reconciliations.
• Analyze standard costs, manufacturing costs, and production variances.
• Maintain fixed asset and capital expenditure accounting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Support annual audit and tax reporting requirements.
• Directly supervise and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Strengthen accounting controls and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Partner closely with Operations, Purchasing, and other departments.
• Provide financial analysis and support to the Controller and management team.

Accounting Manager

Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Salary: $90,000–$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Managerto join our Janesville, Wisconsin manufacturing operation. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will play a key part in the company's financial operations, with responsibility for general accounting, monthly close, inventory and manufacturing cost accounting, financial reporting, and oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
• Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred
• Inventory and cost accounting experience highly desirable
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience preferred
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience working with ERP accounting systems
• SYSPRO experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to take ownership, meet deadlines, and work independently
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus, but not required
