Job summary

FSA Federal is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the monthly close, oversight of journal entries, and manage cash, payroll, and tax filings. The role requires strong Costpoint proficiency and experience with government contracting, including T&M contracts.

Qualifications

• Managerial experience preferred.

• Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
• Microsoft Excel advanced level experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close to ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
• Review monthly journal entries and reversals.
• Post cost, revenue, and cash transactions as needed.
• Review balance sheet and income statements for discrepancies.
• Lead GL reconciliations focusing on cash accounts.
• Manage cash balances to meet disbursement needs.
• Coordinate biweekly payroll disbursements with Payroll.
• Oversee accounts payable for timely cash disbursements.
• Own tax filings responsibilities.
• Lead annual financial audit and prepare statements.
• Develop and update procedures; ensure continuity.
• Administer Costpoint GL, Deltek T&E, and bank accounts.
• Support the annual budgeting cycle.
• Be the finance expert for Deltek Costpoint.

Reporting to the VP Finance & Accounting, the Accounting Manager plays a key role in the Finance department's continuity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Role and Responsibilities

• Primary manager for the monthly financial close process to ensure financial statements are generated timely and accurately.
• Review the compilation of regular monthly and reversing journal entries.
• Post cost, revenue, and cash transactions on an as-needed basis.
• Review overall balance sheet and income statements for any reporting discrepancies that require correction.
• Execute the review of monthly General Ledger account reconciliations with a particular focus on the cash accounts.
• Effectively manage cash balances to ensure availability of funds to meet disbursement needs.
• Work closely with Payroll to complete biweekly payroll disbursements.
• Engage with Accounts payable for timely cash disbursements.
• Management responsibility for tax filings.
• Lead for annual financial audit and financial statement preparation.
• Execute continuity in current procedures & policies as well as the development of new procedures.
• Administration management of Costpoint GL, Deltek T&E, and bank accounts.
• Support annual budgeting cycle.
• Point of contact for technical finance questions related to Deltek Costpoint.

Minimum Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration/Management.
