Vice President of Finance & Accounting
Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance & Accounting to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all accounting and finance operations. Reporting to executive leadership, this role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in government contracting, strong technical accounting expertise, and a proven ability to lead high-performing finance organizations while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all accounting and finance functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, Billing, Project Accounting, and Financial Reporting.
  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, government contracting regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, cash flow management, and payment approvals.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
  • Support indirect rate calculations and government cost reporting requirements.
  • Partner with external auditors, government auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions during audits and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and other business functions on payroll, onboarding, compliance, and organizational initiatives.
  • Prepare financial analyses, executive reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting teams while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives, business planning, and special projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation required.
  • 15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 10 years in leadership or management roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Strong experience supporting government contractors, including familiarity with DoD regulations, DCAA audits, indirect cost accounting, and government compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar ERP systems.
  • Proven experience managing banking relationships, treasury functions, and cash flow.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience leading finance transformation, process improvement, and ERP optimization initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as business needs require.
