Job summary

Jobtailor in Missouri seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the monthly close, oversee the general ledger, and manage accounts receivable across multiple entities. The role collaborates with the Controller on daily operations, supports audits, and drives process improvements.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, 7-15 years of experience including 3+ in management, and strong Deltek skills (VantagePoint/Vision/Costpoint/Ajera). CPA and MBA are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7-15 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years as an Accounting Manager.
• AEC industry background preferred.
• Deltek software experience required (VantagePoint, Vision, Costpoint, and/or Ajera).
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, WIP, ASC 606 & 842, and FAR Part 31.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process, including account reconciliations, trial balance reviews, and preparation of financial statements for management and ownership review.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including account coding, journal entries, and period-end adjustments.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing accuracy, aging reports, and collection issues.
• Coordinate payroll administration with the external payroll processor, including timesheet reporting and labor cost allocation to projects.
• Support internal and external audits, including FAR compliance, schedules, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting by monitoring billings, collections, and cash position.
• Partner with the Controller on daily accounting operations and financial management.
• Manage accounting processes across multiple legal entities and project-based business segments.
• Ensure accurate project costing and cost allocations for financial reporting and profitability analysis.
• Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements for efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
