Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and accurate financial reporting required.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and ERP/MRP systems a plus.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general ledger, monthly close process, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. This role oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate financial records, timely vendor payments, and effective collection of customer balances. The position also maintains customer and vendor information in QuickBooks Online, supports system optimization, and assists with financial reporting, analysis, and budget variance reviews to support informed business decisions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, including monthly close activities, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Review and enhance the GL account structure to support accurate financial reporting and analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, ensuring timely vendor payments, accurate records, and effective collection of outstanding customer balances.
• Maintain customer and vendor records in QuickBooks Online and optimize system utilization.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting, presentations, and budget variance analysis.
• Monitor inventory activity, support cycle count programs, and lead annual physical inventory counts.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules, additions, disposals, and asset tracking.
• Assist with quarterly forecasts, annual budgeting, and backlog tracking processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency.
• Generate internal financial reports and provide support for special projects and ad hoc requests as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of related work experience in Accounting, with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable experience a plus.
• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in MS Excel.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)

• Experience with QuickBooks Online.
• ERP/MRP Systems knowledge, particularly JobBOSS. AS400 and Infor a plus.
• Experience with Power BI a plus.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and/or stand. Use of computer and general office equipment daily. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds without assistance. May be needed to work more than 8 hours per day.
