Job summary

Vacatia in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead critical close processes, strengthen controls, and partner across the business.

This high-impact role requires GAAP expertise, multi-entity experience, and leadership of a growing accounting team as Vacatia scales its hospitality portfolio. You'll own month-end and year-end close, coordinate audits, optimize systems, mentor staff, and collaborate with Finance, Operations, Revenue and Leadership to drive strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 6 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
• Experience managing close processes in multi-entity environments.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and general ledger management.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration.
• CPA or CPA eligibility strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and schedules.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and GAAP compliance.
• Lead internal and external audits, including documentation and responses.
• Partner cross-functionally to improve workflows and internal controls.
• Support integration of new resorts, entities or acquisitions into accounting systems.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and scalability.
• Coach and mentor accounting team members to drive performance.

What Youll Do

• Lead month end and year end close processes ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance
• Review and approve journal entries reconciliations accruals and financial schedules
• Prepare and analyze financial statements variance analyses and management reports
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
• Lead internal and external audits including documentation preparation and audit responses
• Partner cross functionally to improve financial workflows and strengthen internal controls
• Support the integration of new resorts entities or acquisitions into accounting systems
• Identify and lead process improvements that enhance efficiency scalability and transparency
• Coach mentor and support accounting team members to drive performance and development

What You Bring

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
• 6 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience managing close processes in multi entity environments hospitality or real estate a plus
• Proficiency with accounting systems and general ledger management
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner cross functionally
• CPA or CPA eligibility strongly preferred
