Job summary

Vacatia is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead critical accounting functions and strengthen the financial foundation as we scale our multi-entity hospitality portfolio.

This high-impact role will own the close process, ensure GAAP compliance, support audits, and mentor a growing accounting team while collaborating across Finance, Operations, and Leadership in a hybrid Fort Lauderdale environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience in multi-entity environments, hospitality or real estate a plus.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial schedules.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, variances, and management reports.
• Maintain GL integrity and ensure GAAP compliance and internal policies.
• Lead internal and external audits, including documentation and responses.
• Partner cross-functionally to improve workflows and strengthen controls.
• Support integration of new resorts, entities, or acquisitions into accounting systems.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and transparency.
• Coach and mentor accounting team members to drive performance.

What Youll Do

• Lead month end and year end close processes ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance
• Review and approve journal entries reconciliations accruals and financial schedules
• Prepare and analyze financial statements variance analyses and management reports
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
• Lead internal and external audits including documentation preparation and audit responses
• Partner cross functionally to improve financial workflows and strengthen internal controls
• Support the integration of new resorts entities or acquisitions into accounting systems
• Identify and lead process improvements that enhance efficiency scalability and transparency
• Coach mentor and support accounting team members to drive performance and development

What You Bring

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
• 6 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience managing close processes in multi entity environments hospitality or real estate a plus
• Proficiency with accounting systems and general ledger management
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner cross functionally
• CPA or CPA eligibility strongly preferred
