Job summary

Tarvos Talent LLC partners with a stable aerospace and defense manufacturer in Southwest Austin seeking an Accounting Manager to join the leadership team. This onsite role offers direct exposure to executives and a clear path to lead Accounting and Finance, shaping policies and strategies.

The role requires ownership of close processes, cost accounting, cost control, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, PMs, and treasury.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership.
• Strong manufacturing accounting experience required.
• Cost accounting principles and standards knowledge.
• Experience supporting supply chain and manufacturing operations with financial analysis.
• Project accounting experience with budgeting, forecasting, and revenue initiatives.
• Revenue recognition experience (earned, unbilled, deferred).
• ERP experience required; Epicor experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Tarvos Talent is partnering with a stable and growing aerospace and defense manufacturing company in Southwest Austin that is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their leadership team. This is a highly visible onsite role offering a clear path toward leading Accounting and Finance, with direct exposure to executives and the opportunity to help shape company policies and strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Oversee cost accounting activities, including analysis of material, labor, and manufacturing overhead costs
• Partner with operations and supply chain teams to monitor production costs and drive profitability improvements
• Collaborate with Project Managers to support project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue generation initiatives
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and key operational metrics
• Manage revenue recognition processes, including earned, unbilled, and deferred revenue accounting
• Support labor analysis, cost analysis, and financial performance reporting for leadership
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Work cross-functionally with department leaders to provide financial insights and decision support
• Assist with treasury and cash management activities as needed
• Leverage ERP systems and reporting tools to improve efficiency and data accuracy
• Drive process improvements and contribute to the continued growth and scalability of the finance function

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with emphasis on hands-on accounting leadership
• Strong manufacturing accounting experience required
• Deep understanding of cost accounting principles and cost accounting standards
• Experience supporting supply chain and manufacturing operations through financial analysis
• Proven project accounting experience with the ability to partner closely with operational leaders
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, labor analysis, and financial planning
• Revenue recognition experience, including earned, unbilled, and deferred revenue accounting
• Treasury experience is a plus
• ERP system experience required; Epicor experience is highly preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required and may be assessed during the interview process
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills across multiple departments
• Professional, mature, and growth-oriented mindset with the ability to work directly with executive leadership
