Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting a growing manufacturing organization in Fort Worth, TX to hire a Cost Accounting Manager to build and lead the cost accounting function from the ground up, collaborating with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership.

You will own standard costing, inventory valuation, month-end close, and KPI reporting while driving process improvements, ERP optimization, and analytics to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing cost accounting or equivalent.
• Experience improving processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Own standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and costing reporting.
• Lead month-end close for inventory, COGS, and manufacturing ops.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and leadership reporting.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range plans.

What You'll Do

• Develop and enhance cost accounting, inventory accounting, and reporting processes
• Own standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and manufacturing cost reporting
• Lead month-end close activities related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing operations
• Build and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting for leadership
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial analysis
• Analyze production costs, labor, overhead, scrap, yield, and inventory trends to identify improvement opportunities
• Support ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, and process automation initiatives
• Present financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership and international stakeholders
• Establish scalable controls and procedures to support continued growth
• Serve as a key business partner to operations, engineering, supply chain, quality, and finance teams

What They're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of manufacturing cost accounting experience (Open to a Senor Accountant ready for the next step)
• Strong expertise in standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and month-end close
• Experience building or significantly improving accounting processes and controls
• Background supporting a startup operation, facility expansion, ERP implementation, or major process transformation preferred
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Experience partnering with operations and translating financial data into business decisions
