Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience including close process leadership.

• Solid knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Exposure to FP&A work such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Own the general ledger and keep it accurate, organized, and audit-ready.
• Support cost accounting, including inventory valuation, job costing, standard cost updates, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Help build budgets and forecasts, and dig into variances with the Controller and operations leaders.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff across AP, AR, and payroll support.
• Prepare schedules and coordinate with auditors during the annual audit.
• Find and fix process gaps that slow down the close or weaken controls.

About the Role

We're hiring an Accounting Manager to run the day-to-day accounting engine for an established electrical power equipment and services company. You'll lead the close, own the general ledger, and make sure inventory and production costs are captured accurately so the numbers leadership sees actually reflect what's happening on the shop floor.

The company designs, remanufactures, and services power distribution equipment for industrial, utility, and mission-critical customers. With real inventory and job costs in the mix, cost accounting experience is a big plus. You'll also support budgeting and forecasting, so you'll see both sides: closing the books and helping plan what's next.

What You'll Do

• 7+ years of accounting experience, including time leading a close process or supervising staff
• Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment is strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Exposure to FP&A work such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Background and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA track preferred
• Comfortable in an ERP system and strong in Excel
• Detail-oriented, organized, and steady under close deadlines
• Clear communicator who can work with operations teams as easily as with finance
