Job summary

CRE Finance Council is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee corporate accounting, project reporting, and financial compliance across active commercial and mixed-use buildouts in Central Texas.

Reporting to the CFO, this role provides a path toward Assistant Controller or Controller as the portfolio grows, with hybrid flexibility and strong exposure to real estate finance and JV accounting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in commercial construction or real estate development.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience managing small-to-mid size accounting teams.
• Experience with real estate/construction ERPs (Yardi, MRI, Sage 300 CRE, Sage Intacct).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and joint venture accounting structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day general ledger operations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee lender draw requests, capital call management, and joint venture waterfall accounting.
• Manage a team of Project Accountants, AP/AR specialists, and payroll personnel.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and banking/bonding relationships alongside executive leadership.
