DOUBLETREE BY HILTON WASHINGTON DC SILVER SPRING is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead core accounting operations and support timely financial reporting. You will balance hands-on work with team leadership and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities include overseeing GL/AP/AR, month-end close, internal controls, and close partnerships with leadership to drive insights and improvements. Strong GAAP knowledge and Excel expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Progressive accounting experience with leadership or supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and schedules for accuracy.
• Lead month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain internal controls and comply with accounting policies and regulations.
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and other deliverables.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and explain variances.
• Assist with audits, tax-related requests, and external reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and strengthen reporting.
• Train, coach, and develop accounting team members.
