Job summary

Halethorpe, MD: An experienced accounting professional is sought to join the finance team as Accounting Supervisor, responsible for leading month-end close, financial reporting, staff development, and key accounting functions through the next growth phase.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will supervise staff, ensure GAAP compliance, mentor team, partner with operations, and drive process improvements while supporting audits and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA strongly preferred and an advanced Excel skill set is expected.
• Experience leading accounting teams and projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate reporting.
• Supervise staff, provide coaching and development.
• Review entries, reconciliations, accruals and schedules.
• Oversee revenue recognition, WIP, and project reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations.
• Partner with operations for financial insights and decisions.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate audits and be a primary contact for auditors.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
• Drive process improvements for efficiency and reporting capabilities.
• Support special projects and system enhancements.
