Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a well-established organization in the Washington, DC area seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, and team management.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and experience operating in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience preferred.
Strong experience with core operational accounting functions required.
CPA preferred.
Experience with large ERP systems, e.g. NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Unanet, Costpoint or similar.

Responsibilities

Oversee monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
Manage general ledger operations and ensure timely, accurate accounting results.
Review journal entries, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
Supervise accounting staff and support team development.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
Partner with leadership on reporting, audit support, and operational improvements.
Assist with systems optimization and accounting process standardization.
