Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an Accounting & Inventory Clerk in the Los Angeles area to support both accounting and inventory functions. This role maintains accurate inventory records, assists with transactions, and reconciles discrepancies across multiple locations, working closely with accounting, operations, purchasing, and warehouse teams.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and experienced with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting, inventory control, bookkeeping, or a related role.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice matching, coding, and data entry.
• Support accounts receivable activities by applying payments, researching discrepancies, and maintaining customer records.
• Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end close procedures.
• Enter and maintain accurate accounting data within the ERP system.
• Assist with journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules as needed.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Support internal and external audit requests by gathering required documentation and reports.
• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure inventory records remain accurate across multiple warehouse and retail locations.
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies and research variances between physical counts and system records.
• Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory audits.
• Review purchase orders, receiving documentation, and inventory adjustments for accuracy.
• Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
• Generate inventory reports and assist management with inventory analysis and tracking.
• Help improve inventory control procedures and support process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of inventory movements, transfers, and adjustments.
