Job summary

Howmet Aerospace invites a highly motivated student to join its Finance team in Pittsburgh for a Summer 2027 Intern - Accounting program. This 12-week internship offers real-world accounting exposure, including financial analyses, SEC tie-outs, and SOX controls work, with a hybrid schedule and a housing stipend for qualifying students from across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's program in Accounting or Finance with an expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or equivalent
• Demonstrated internship, work, research, or extracurricular participation
• Involved with at least one extracurricular activity
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial analyses, SEC filings, tie outs of 10Qs and earnings press releases, as well as SOX controls documentation
• Use the accounting systems (i.e., Smart View) in connection with monthly general ledger financial close and consolidation
• Review and research internal policies (SOPs and Financial Management Handbook) and GAAP requirements
• Interact with global finance contacts to validate account balances and fluctuations
• Attend information sessions with the Senior Leadership team
