Job summary

Howmet Aerospace invites energetic undergraduates to join our Intern – Accounting program for Summer 2027 in Pittsburgh, PA. This 12-week internship delivers hands-on accounting/finance experience using Excel, Oracle Smart View, and other tools, with an impact project on assets and liabilities.

You will contribute to the Financial Transactions and Policy team, participate in analyses, and gain exposure to monthly closes, GAAP, and policy reviews, all within a hybrid schedule and a housing

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s program in Accounting or Finance with an expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or equivalent
• Demonstrated internship, work, research, or extracurricular participation
• Involved with at least one extracurricular activity
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial analyses, SEC filings, tie outs of 10Qs and earnings press releases, as well as SOX controls documentation
• Use the accounting systems (i.e., Smart View) in connection with monthly general ledger financial close and consolidation
• Review and research internal policies (SOPs and Financial Management Handbook) and GAAP requirements
• Interact with global finance contacts to validate account balances and fluctuations
• Attend information sessions with the Senior Leadership team

Your education is just the beginning – you’ll become an active member of ourFinancial Transactions and Policyteam located inPittsburgh, PA. During our12-weekinternship program, you’ll tackle real-world challenges through impactful assignments, and work alongside our industry changemakers.

TheIntern – Accounting will gain experience in several areas of corporate accounting/finance using different tools (Excel, Oracle Smart View, etc.) with no one day being the same. The internship requires strong communication skills and organization to keep up with multiple responsibilities that will help you to establish a foundation for building a career in accounting/finance.

Intern Impact Project: Assets and Liability Review

TheIntern – Accounting will be tasked with an Assets/Liabilities Project looking at changes in account balances of other assets and liabilities over time and pursuing explanations for fluctuations and balances.

Qualifications

Your Education, Skills, and Experience:

Compensation for this internship opportunity ranges between $20- $22 per hour. (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).

A relocation stipend in the amount of $3,600 will be provided to students located 50+ miles from the physical location of the internship.
