Job summary

Downtown San Diego Partnership is looking for an Accounting Intern to support the accounting team by assisting with various tasks such as accounts payable processing and grant documentation. This role offers practical exposure to daily accounting operations for students pursuing a degree in accounting or related fields.

The intern will work 16 hours per week during business hours, receiving a stipend of $750 upon completion of 160 hours. Ideal candidates should have a basic understanding of accounting principles and be detail-oriented.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of accounting principles (coursework in accounting required).
• Experience with accounting software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with entering vendor bills in the accounting system.
• Review credit card and debit card receipts.
• Help collect and organize documentation for grant reimbursement requests.

Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Eagerness to learn and take initiative

Education

Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
