Job summary

Herzog Contracting Corp. in St. Joseph, MO is seeking an Accounting Intern to support the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities.

The intern will participate in accounts payable/receivable, job cost accounting, and data entry in the ERP system, while developing technical accounting skills and professional

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP software is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with job cost accounting and tracking project costs against budgets.
• Assist with data entry and maintenance of accounting records in the accounting/ERP system.
• Support internal and external audit requests by gathering and organizing documentation as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures.
• Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
• Other duties as assigned.
