Westervelt Ecological Services invites an Accounting Intern to join our Sacramento team for hands-on finance exposure. You will process invoices, help prepare reports, and support project managers with financial data in a part-time capacity.

This role offers mentorship and the chance to build Excel/data-entry skills within an environmental conservation environment. Schedule is flexible around classes; potential for summer hours later.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of accounting/data entry experience or equivalent coursework.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Proficiency with Excel and MS Office; data entry skills required.
• Ability to work 15-20 hours per week in the Sacramento office.
• Competitive internship pay: $22/hr undergrads, $24/hr grads.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, collect, validate, and enter a variety of finance and accounting information.
• Prepare reports and other financial forms.
• Compile project financial data as needed for project managers.
• Assist with preparing customer invoices.
• Assist with the processing and coding of supplier invoices and payment requests.
• Assist with various tasks during period close.
• Provide general admin support to the finance team as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
