Job summary

Christensen Farms seeks an undergraduate accounting/finance student for a 10-week internship in Minnesota. You will assist with month-end closings, prepare financial and managerial reports, and support ASC 842 data collection and audit documentation.

Strong Excel skills and US work authorization are required. Ideal candidates are juniors or seniors with a 3.0+ GPA, eager to learn, and able to communicate findings effectively in writing and speech.

Qualifications

Job description

A holistic, end-to-end experience in a corporate environment with access and visibility to senior executives, hands-on experience in financial reporting, managerial reporting, tax preparation and annual audit, and participation in daily tasks as well as special projects.

Core hours of operation are 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday thru Friday.

10 weeks (End of May through first week in August).

Majors Areas of Accountability

• Assist with general accounting month-end closing procedures
• Monthly financial statement and managerial reporting review and analysis
• Prepare financial reporting packages
• Assist in data collection and entry in preparation for ASC 842 implementation
• Prepare documentation in support of external audits
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
• Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
• Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

• Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited local University, with a major in Accounting or Finance. Junior or Senior level, with current GPA of 3.0 or above
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship
• Ability to communicate process and findings through oral and written communication effectively and efficiently
• Ambitious, positive attitude, and a desire to build a career in the accounting field
• Possess a strong desire to learn and eagerness to gain hands‑on experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, have excellent math skills, and be able to use a computer properly
