Job summary

Waste Resource Management, based in Houston, TX, offers a 10–12 week Accounting Intern internship supporting the Accounting and Finance teams. You will work with a mentor and complete a capstone project to identify measurable improvements to an existing process.

You'll gain hands-on exposure to real-world accounting, financial reporting, data analysis, reconciliations, and business operations within a growing environmental services organization.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time as a junior/senior pursuing a relevant degree.
• Basic understanding of accounting concepts.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office, esp. Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to learn and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting activities.
• Support reconciliations and ensure financial data accuracy.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and GL tasks.
• Help with data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to cross-functional discussions.
• Prepare reports and summaries for leadership.
