Blue Cross Arena in Buffalo, NY seeks an Accounting Intern to provide administrative and basic accounting support on a seasonal, part-time basis. You will assist with journal entries, AR/AP tasks, data pulls, and research under supervision.

The role offers hands-on exposure to finance operations, development of professional skills through workshops, and mentorship opportunities during the 2026-2027 season. Daytime hours and on-site work required.

The Accounting Intern will provide administrative and basic accounting support for various departmental tasks and projects on a seasonal basis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist the Finance Department in completing day to day tasks, including the preparation of journal entry support, mail distribution, data pulling, and general research.

Provide support to AR and AP related needs, such as tracking incoming payments, sending invoices and payments, reviewing and analyzing vendor statements, etc.

Assist with data analysis and validation projects

Perform other projects as assigned

Be accountable for work assigned and the timely completion of each assigned task.

Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year program, finance and accounting majors preferred

Organized and detail oriented

Available to work 2-3 days /week

• Monthly Professional Development Workshops focused on department overviews, workplace skills, and industry insights.
• Mentorship Program with the option to be paired with an organizational mentor for guidance and professional support throughout the internship.
• Job Shadowing Opportunities across departments to gain exposure to different roles and career paths within the organization.
• Career Preparation Resources: Resume reviews and mock interviews to strengthen job search and interviewing skills.

Compensation & Hours

This is a part-time in-person role, paying $16.00 per hour. Must have availability to work daytime hours. This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 season.

Work Environment & Physical Demands.

This internship operates in both an office setting and in a live events setting. Candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving boxes up to 20 pounds.
