Job summary

Hockey Western New York, LLC is offering a part-time Accounting Intern position in Buffalo, NY for the 2026-2027 season. The role supports the Finance Department with administrative tasks, journal entry prep, data pulls, and AR/AP responsibilities.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a 2- or 4-year program, possess strong communication skills, and can work 2–3 days per week. This in-person internship provides development workshops, mentorship, and cross-department exposure.

• Assist Finance with day-to-day tasks including journal entry support and data pulling.
• Support AR/AP activities such as tracking payments and reviewing vendor statements.
• Assist with data analysis and validation projects.
• Handle additional projects as assigned and ensure timely completion.

Summary

The Accounting Intern will provide administrative and basic accounting support for various departmental tasks and projects on a seasonal basis.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the Finance Department in completing day to day tasks, including the preparation of journal entry support, mail distribution, data pulling, and general research.
• Provide support to AR and AP related needs, such as tracking incoming payments, sending invoices and payments, reviewing and analyzing vendor statements, etc.
• Assist with data analysis and validation projects
• Perform other projects as assigned
• Be accountable for work assigned and the timely completion of each assigned task.

Minimum Qualifications for the Position

• Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year program, finance and accounting majors preferred

Compensation & Hours

This is a part-time in-person role, paying $16.00 per hour. Must have availability to work daytime hours. This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 season.

Work Environment & Physical Demands.

This internship operates in both an office setting and in a live events setting. Candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving boxes up to 20 pounds.
