Job summary

Bank of Hawaii is seeking a Senior Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting functions and the GL reconciliation process. You will lead staff, manage month-end close, and coordinate with business units to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal controls.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance (CPA preferred), 5–7+ years of experience in accounting or auditing, and strong communication and analytical skills. Flexible hours and strong leadership are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related area; CPA preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with PC and Microsoft applications; GAAP/accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting staff functions and reconcilement processes.
• Oversee month-end reconciliations and GL entries; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage GL balance testing, suspense items, and internal deposit accounts."
• Lead staffing, scheduling, performance management, and training for the accounting section.
• Coordinate with business units to understand processes and control risks.
