Job summary

Kinkaid Civil Construction in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Accounting Generalist to support day-to-day accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll reporting, reconciliations, job costing, GL entries, and month-end close. You will work with project managers and vendors to maintain accurate records and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of accounting experience, knowledge of job costing in construction, and proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Generalist to join our civil construction team. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reporting, reconciliations, job costing, general ledger entries, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience working in a construction or project-based environment. This role will work closely with project managers, vendors, and company leadership to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with preparation and submission of lien waivers and releases.
• Assist with job costing and project financial tracking.
• Assist with payroll and employee expense processing.
• Support month-end and year-end close.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
• Work with project managers and vendors to resolve accounting questions.
• Provide general administrative and accounting support as needed.
• Perform account and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
• Assist with job cost and project-related accounting.
• Communicate with vendors and customers regarding invoices and payments.
• Support month-end close and other accounting activities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Construction industry experience is a plus.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Knowledge of job costing and project accounting preferred
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
