Job summary

Frederick Community College seeks a Faculty Member for Accounting to join the School of Technology, Trades, Business, and Hospitality. This full-time position entails teaching accounting courses, mentoring students and contributing to curriculum development and accreditation efforts.

The role requires a Master’s degree (or equivalent), current CPA license, and experience teaching (community college preferred).

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (must be conferred by the date of hire) in Accounting, Business, or closely related field; OR lower degree in Accounting, Business or closely related field with significant professional experience.
  • Experience teaching (community college level preferred), mentoring, or training and/or industry related experience in the Accounting or closely related field.
  • Current CPA license.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in accounting, in instructional modalities as determined by the College.
  • Maintain an in-person, on-campus presence for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Participate in curriculum development, academic assessment and accreditation responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement strategies for student success, including general student advising.
  • Attend and participate in division, school, career community and other meetings, Commencement, Convocations, time sensitive meetings called by administration, student open houses, orientations and administrative days.
