Job summary

Northampton Community College is hiring a full-time, tenure-track Accounting faculty member to begin in Spring 2026. The position involves a teaching load of 15 credits per semester, focusing on both introductory and advanced Accounting courses, while engaging in student advising and college service activities.

Qualified candidates will possess a Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a relevant Master's degree, with preferred CPA qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive medical plans and tuition waivers.

  • Experience with tax accountancy is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and deliver Accounting coursework.
  • Maintain curriculum and assess program-level academic.

  • Select textbooks and materials in compliance with policy.
  • Assist in recruitment of full-time faculty and student advising.
  • Prepare budget materials for departmental use.
  • Participate in scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Implement responsibilities aligned with institutional goals.

Job description

Position Summary

Full‑time, tenure‑track teaching faculty position in Accounting, beginning in the Spring 2026 semester. Teaching load: 15 credits per semester (30 credits per academic year). Primary responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced Accounting courses, advising students, participating in college service activities, and engaging in ongoing professional development. Experience with tax accountancy is desirable.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and deliver Accounting coursework in alignment with the College Catalog and institutional objectives.
  • Maintain curriculum and participate in course‑level and program‑level academic assessment.
  • Acquaint students with course requirements at the start of each semester and provide periodic evaluations of their progress.
  • Select textbooks and instructional materials in compliance with College policy.
  • Assist in the recruitment of full‑time faculty as needed and improve the student advising program.
  • Prepare preliminary budget materials for departmental use.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings of the department, division, and professional staff.
  • Implement special responsibilities aligned with institutional and departmental goals.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a Master’s in Accounting or Financial Planning from an accredited institution; CPA preferred.
