Boutique Recruiting presents a Director of Finance position for a longtime nonprofit serving individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health support, and homelessness. Reporting to CEO/CFO, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow, and grant-related operations for a $17M organization across three divisions.

The role requires a seasoned finance leader who blends technical expertise with collaborative, coaching-focused leadership, driving accountability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience.
• 5+ years in supervisory or senior management roles.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with Sage Intacct; Solver and Paycom a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and collaborative leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow across programs.
• Direct leadership of Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, and grant-related finance.
• Oversee monthly close and financial review meetings for leadership and board.
• Present monthly/annual statements to executives, directors, and board committees.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP compliance.
• Oversee audits and reporting to grantors and funders.
• Partner with senior leaders to evaluate budgets and allocate resources.

Position Title: Director of Finance

Salary Range: $80,000–$100,000 / Year, DOE

Turn financial leadership into meaningful community impact. This Director of Finance will lead the financial operations of a long-standing nonprofit serving individuals with developmental disabilities, people seeking behavioral health support, and those experiencing homelessness. Reporting to the CEO/CFO and serving on the Senior Leadership Team, this role will oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow, compliance, and grant-related financial operations across a complex $17M organization with three distinct service divisions.

The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative, coaching-focused leadership style. They must be comfortable holding a seasoned team accountable while giving them the support and autonomy to succeed and, most importantly, genuinely connect with the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management across multiple programs and service divisions
• Provide direct leadership and guidance to the Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, and grant-related finance functions
• Lead monthly close and financial review meetings, ensuring accurate reporting and clear visibility into organizational and program performance
• Analyze and present monthly and annual financial statements to leadership, program directors, the Finance Committee, and Board of Directors
• Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies and financial procedures while ensuring compliance with GAAP and funding requirements
• Oversee annual operating and capital planning, external audits and financial reporting to grantors and funding sources
• Partner with senior leadership and department directors to evaluate budgets, allocate resources, manage risk and support strategic initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience
• 5+ years of supervisory or senior management experience leading experienced accounting and finance professionals
• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and financial analysis
• Experience with Sage Intacct required, with Solver and Paycom experience strongly preferred
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use financial data and metrics to guide decisions
• Collaborative leadership style with a commitment to coaching, accountability, and the organization’s mission
