Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative with ownership and operational leadership.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and work alongside the accounting team.
  • Experience in a privately held, family-owned, or closely held business is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day accounting operations for the organization.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately five accounting professionals.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Review general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Maintain the integrity of the company's accounting records and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and provide meaningful insights to ownership and senior leadership.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and other core accounting functions.
  • Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, and increase the efficiency of the accounting department.
  • Partner with ownership and operational leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis.
  • Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and relationships with external accounting and financial professionals.
  • Ensure appropriate controls and procedures are in place to safeguard company assets.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and provide hands-on support to the accounting team when needed.
  • Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and other initiatives as the business evolves.
  • Serve as a trusted financial resource to ownership and senior leadership.
