• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in inventory-heavy environments.
• Experience consolidating financial statements across multiple entities and strong US GAAP knowledge.
• Hands-on ERP experience with NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Oracle or similar.

Responsibilities

• Run monthly close across multiple locations and legal entities.
• Review and post journal entries, manage accruals and cutoff.
• Oversee revenue recognition for distribution sales and margin reporting.
• Manage inventory accounting including standard costs, freight, duties, reserves, obsolescence.
• Reconcile GL accounts, bank, fixed assets, prepaids, receivables, payables, payroll liabilities.
• Support audits and prepare audit fieldwork.
• Directly manage and develop AP/AR staff and ensure accuracy.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Run the monthly close across multiple locations and legal entities
• Review and post journal entries, manage accruals, and ensure accurate cutoff
• Oversee revenue recognition for distribution sales, vendor expenses, and margin reporting
• Manage inventory accounting, including standard costs, ocean freight, import fees and duties, reserves, obsolescence, and adjustments
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank, fixed assets, prepaids, receivables, payables, commissions payable, debt, and payroll liabilities
• Support audit fieldwork for annual financial audits
• Directly manage and develop AP and AR staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness
• Help migrate newly acquired businesses onto common systems, charts of accounts, and close calendars
• Support balance sheet setup, inventory validation, and working capital normalization for acquisitions
• Work with internal teams to resolve billing and payment discrepancies
• Assist the Corporate Controller with special projects as needed

Qualifications Needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or another inventory heavy business
• Experience preparing consolidated financial statements in a multiple entity environment
• Strong command of US GAAP and close mechanics
• Hands on ERP experience with NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar
• Proven ability to supervise and develop junior accounting staff
• Public accounting background is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills
• Comfortable in a fast paced, imperfect environment and able to manage multiple projects at once
• Willing to travel periodicly to company locations
