Job summary

The University of South Alabama’s Central Utilities department seeks an Accounting Data Specialist I. Responsibilities include dual reporting to Central Utilities and Facilities Accounting, Kronos time entry, EPAFs, payroll input, invoice verification in Concur, and budget monitoring.

This is a full-time on-site role on the Mobile campus for candidates with a high school diploma and 3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of financial reporting experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Dual reporting to Central Utilities and Facilities Accounting for day-to-day finance functions.
• Backup support to Accounting Data Specialist I for Grounds and Maintenance.
• Updates employee time in Kronos.
• Verifies Kronos entries are ready for submission by Manager.
• Completes and submits reassigned labor forms for time charged to other departments or projects.
• Maintains documents in personnel and vendor files.
• Enters separation notices and completes EPAFs and Personnel Requisitions as needed.
• Submits timesheets for temporary employees and processes payroll related items.
• Verifies invoices and submits for payment through Concur; submits requisitions for purchase orders.
• Prints and assigns work orders from TMA; edits and closes with completion dates.
• Inputs new work orders and submits FUPLOAD to the Business Office for fund transfers.
• Acts as proxy for Concur reports and reviews monthly budget status reports.
• Maintains Property Control Forms for items to be sent to Property Department.
