Job summary

IEEE in New York seeks an Accounting Coordinator (Temporary) to provide financial and accounting support to the Staff Director of Finance and Business Operations. You will assist with timely financial reporting to Society leadership and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include expense management, sponsorship agreements, budgeting for society and conference finances, and aiding governance and special projects.

Qualifications

  • B.A. Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience, preferably in a Association or Not-For-Profit.
  • Masters or CPA license helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Expense Management and Review – ensure compliance with expense submissions and guidelines, budgeting approvals, and proper coding.
  • Sponsorship Agreement Management – compilation, invoicing, payment collection, and terms negotiation with legal review and approvals.
  • Society Finance – collect information from volunteers and staff to compile the budget, forecast, and monthly financial reporting to leadership.
  • Conference Finance – compile up to 35 conference budgets, process expenses, review bank statements, ensure VAT compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Governance – assist with arranging Finance Committee Meetings.
  • Special Projects – collaborate with Finance Director on special initiatives.
