Job summary

TransCore, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Associate Accounting Coordinator in White Marsh, Maryland. The role focuses on computing, classifying, recording, and verifying numerical data to maintain accurate accounting records.

Paid hourly, range $20–$21, based on qualifications and experience. The position requires an Accounting degree or a high school diploma with 0–2 years of related work experience, strong Excel/Word skills, and a team-oriented, detail-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree or high school diploma with 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with bookkeeping or office work is preferred.
• Strong math and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile daily check deposits and lockbox activity.
• Review and balance deposits against bank reports and the Back-Office System.
• Monitor lockbox files and deposit transmissions for accuracy.
• Research and resolve deposit discrepancies and posting exceptions.
• Coordinate with MDTA Service Centers on discrepancies and processing issues.
• Process payments, corrections, adjustments, and reversals per procedures.
• Prepare and maintain daily deposit balancing reports and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile outstanding deposit variances and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, audit requirements and dual-custody procedures.
• Log and monitor returned checks, rejected deposits, and related exceptions.
• Maintain organized records and documentation per retention policies and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Finance, and Operations to resolve payment issues and account posting.
• Meet daily/weekly/monthly performance metrics; escalate issues as needed.
• Cross-train on department duties within the team.
• Perform other duties as directed by TransCore management.
