Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking an Accounting Coordinator in Gainesville, FL, on a Tuesday-Saturday schedule with Saturdays work-from-home. You will act as the financial backbone, supporting OCS and Vending operations and ensuring accurate reporting across warehouse, field, and administrative teams.

The role emphasizes precision, problem-solving, and collaboration, with opportunities to contribute to audits and process improvements while maintaining sensitive financial data and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, AP/AR, reconciliation, or operational support preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP.
  • Comfort working with vending technology, credit card readers, and basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across warehouse, field, and administrative teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed warehouse and inventory reconciliations across OCS and Vending operations.
  • Review, validate, and maintain financial records to support accurate, timely reporting.
  • Investigate cash shortages/overages, inventory variances, and warehouse discrepancies — partnering with operations to find root causes and solutions.
  • Create customer orders and process invoices; support accounts receivable through payment tracking, reconciliations, and follow-up.
  • Assist with accounts payable functions, ensuring transactions are properly documented per company policy.
  • Execute and maintain product pricing updates for OCS and Vending categories.
  • Troubleshoot vending machines with credit card readers; coordinate installations, removals, and service requests with field and technical teams.
  • Partner daily with warehouse personnel, route drivers, and field operations to resolve cash handling, billing, inventory, and equipment issues.
  • Complete data entry, maintain documentation, and support internal and external audit activities.
  • Safeguard sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.

Job Summary
About the Role

Canteen is looking for a detail-driven Accounting Coordinator to be a financial backbone, supporting our OCS and Vending operations. This is a role for someone who loves precision, thrives on problem-solving, and enjoys being the connective tissue between warehouse, field, and administrative teams — keeping our numbers accurate and our operations running smoothly. Please note: This is a Tuesday thru Saturday schedule (work from home on Saturdays!)
