Job summary

Canteen North America is seeking a District Accounting Manager to lead all accounting within the District Branch, including vending, markets and refreshment services. This role ensures accurate general ledger, period close and robust internal controls.

The ideal candidate will have a accounting background, strong Excel/SAP skills, and experience with payroll, A/R/A/P, and reporting. Evening or weekend work may be required during month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting, Finance, Management) preferred but not required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and SAP
• A minimum of two years financial management experience
• Ability to track and measure financial data and communicate information up and down
• Audit compliance experience and financial documentation
• Evening/weekend work during month-end close

Responsibilities

• Handles day-to-day HR issues including payroll, benefit administration, training, FMLA/Worker’s Comp, and regulatory compliance staffing
• Manages cash room and coordinates banking/armored car services
• Manages A/R and A/P processes
• Assists in the production of weekly reporting
• Lends financial perspective to business issues facing district operation, including cost-benefit analysis
• Manages period close, ensures general ledger accuracy and completes balance sheet reconciliations
• Assists in analyzing financial statements for profit improvement and recommends actions
• Assists with forecast and budget modeling and what-if scenarios
• Maintains internal controls within District operation
• Interacts with internal and external auditors
• Provides assistance with DOT-related issues/schedules
• Provides assistance with building maintenance management as needed

Job Summary
