Job summary

The Canteen Staff Accountant position provides accounting and operational support across our three lines of business: Vending, Market, and Office Coffee Service (OCS). This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, eager to learn, and interested in growing their career within an operations-focused accounting environment.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of their responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end close activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookup formulas and pivot tables.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize competing responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
• Positive attitude, initiative, and desire for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts receivable activities.
• Assist with payroll duties.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations.
• Manage P-card activity and supporting documentation.
• Process customer commissions.
• Participate in cash room activities, including petty cash reconciliation and cash management.
• Assist with fixed asset tracking and management.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support audits, compliance activities, data entry, and special projects as assigned.
