Job Summary

At Canteen, we believe great food service is powered by great people — and that includes the team behind the scenes keeping our financial operations running as smoothly as our dining programs. We're looking for an Accounting Assistant who takes pride in accuracy, thrives on organization, and brings the same service-first mindset to numbers that Canteen brings to every cup of coffee, vending solution, and dining experience we deliver.

If you love the satisfaction of a perfectly balanced ledger and enjoy building relationships with customers along the way, this role is your next opportunity.

About The Role

As Canteen's Accounting Assistant, you'll be a vital part of our Financial Division, ensuring accounts receivable operations run smoothly and our client relationships stay strong. What You'll Do
  • Monitor credits and debits across accounts with a sharp eye for accuracy
  • Post customer payments, verify deposits, and ensure funds are properly applied
  • Track unpaid invoices and proactively follow up with customers on overdue balances
  • Balance daily and month-end accounts receivable against general ledger balances
  • Investigate outstanding invoices, make collection calls, and negotiate payment terms with professionalism and tact
  • Process liens for collections when necessary
  • Enter and maintain accurate data within accounts receivable general ledger accounts
  • Provide administrative support across the Financial Department
  • Take on additional responsibilities as they arise, contributing wherever needed
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting — or equivalent education paired with a solid grasp of accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and QuickBooks
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication, data entry accuracy, and math skills
Why Canteen

As part of our Financial Division, you'll gain hands‑on accounts receivable ownership, sharpen your collections and negotiation skills, and grow within a company that invests in its people as much as it does in the service it delivers.

If you're ready to bring your accounting expertise to a team where precision and hospitality go hand in hand, we'd love to hear from you.
