Job summary

Socket.dev seeks an accomplished accounting leader to direct financial operations in a project-driven environment. The role requires CPA-level expertise in financial reporting, cash flow management, internal controls, and tax compliance, with the ability to partner with project managers and leadership to maximize profitability.

You will lead the accounting team, oversee the general ledger, billing, payroll coordination, budgeting, forecasting, and dashboards, and ensure strong internal controls

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations including general ledger, billing, payroll coordination, project accounting, and month-end close.
• Provide financial statements, forecasts, cash flow projections, dashboards, and management reporting.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial analysis, and performance reviews.
• Partner with project managers to improve profitability, monitor WIP, and manage budgets.
• Maintain internal controls, policies, compliance programs, audits, and tax coordination.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team and improve reporting tools.

Quality Engineering and Surveying is seeking an accomplished accounting professional to lead our financial operations and support continued growth in a project-driven environment. The successful candidate will bring CPA-level expertise in financial reporting, cash flow management, internal controls, and tax compliance, along with the ability to partner effectively with project managers and leadership teams to maximize project and company profitability.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations, including general ledger, billing, payroll coordination, project accounting, and month-end close.


• Provide financial statements, forecasts, cash flow projections, dashboards, and management reporting.


• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial analysis, and performance reviews.


• Partner with project managers to improve profitability, monitor WIP, manage budgets, and identify financial risks.


• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, compliance programs, audits, and tax coordination.


• Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team while improving systems, reporting tools, and workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.


• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls.


• Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams.


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.


• Active Louisiana CPA preferred.


• Meaningful business tax experience.


• AEC, engineering, consulting, professional services, or project-based accounting experience.


• Experience with Deltek Ajera or similar ERP systems.

The ideal candidate is a CPA-level accounting leader with strong financial reporting, cash flow, internal controls, and tax experience. They have a proven ability to lead accounting teams, partner with project managers, and support profitability in an AEC or professional services environment. Experience with Deltek Ajera and project-based accounting is highly desirable.
