Job summary

Santa Rosa Community Health in Santa Rosa, CA seeks an Accounting Clerk for a part-time, in-person role. Under direct supervision, you will manage cash deposits and provide backup support for the accounts payable process.

The position supports daily cash handling and contributes to month-end closing and audits. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of related accounting experience (nonprofit preferred), an AA degree preferred, and strong Excel/Word skills with familiarity in Great Plains.

Qualifications

• Two to three years related accounting experience or nonprofit accounting experience.
• Minimum AA degree preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accrual based accounting.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Experience with cash deposits, accounts payable, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Receives mailed payments daily; codes and inputs payments including checks and electronic payments; makes daily deposits.
• Maintains Cash deposit files and bank transactions.
• Enters bank transactions and transfers as necessary.
• Assists with accounts payable backup and monthly close tasks.
• Supports annual audit preparation and donation records.
• Researches cash deposit questions and issues; prepares deposits and reports.
