Position Details:
This non-exempt position is covered by the Rancho Palos Verdes Employees Association. The incumbent must work well in a team-oriented and professional environment.
This multi-functional role primarily serves as the City’s cashier, operating a cash register, processing and reconciling payments such as business license taxes and citywide permit fees, and preparing related reports. Responsibilities include daily closing processes, payment processing, and billing and collection of accounts receivable. The position also leads the annual business license renewal process and supports accounts payable, budget, and purchasing tasks as needed.
The work location is at the cashiering office of the Community Development Department. The incumbent must be able to work independently in this dual environment.
Ideal Candidate:
A successful candidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic, be highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities, and committed to exceptional customer service. Use of tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within established policies is essential. The candidate should also foster positive relationships with colleagues and the public.
Familiarity with Munis Tyler, TRAKiT (Central Square), or similar financial software and cash register systems is a plus but not required. Punctuality and reliability are important, as this position functions as the Citywide Cashier.
