Job description

Join to apply for the Accounting Clerk role at Sonesta International Hotels.

Perform a variety of accounting duties to ensure correct reporting of revenues and costs, the timely payment of invoices, and/or timely receipt of monies owed to the hotel. Responsibilities include Accounts Payable, General Cashiering, and Payroll.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Summarize and post data to journals, ledgers, and other accounting records; reconcile bank accounts; verify records.
  • Obtain approvals from department heads on invoices; make accounting entries; reconcile discrepancies; prepare payment transmittals.
  • Monitor accounts receivable; send collection letters; follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Process billing requests; manage credit card disputes; reconcile credit card accounts.
  • Prepare payroll; reconcile time records; ensure timely employee payments.
  • Maintain accounting files; assist with clerical duties as needed.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits; manage hotel funds; conduct audits; report discrepancies.
  • Ensure internal controls protect company assets.
  • Coordinate with other departments to promote teamwork and service quality.
  • Assist with storeroom operations and reconcile requisitions.
  • Perform additional accounting duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year experience in an accounting clerical role or similar.
  • Payroll and hotel accounting experience are pluses.
  • Fluent English required.
