Job summary

Eckerd Connects seeks a Service Contract Act accounting clerk in Pittsburgh, PA. The role performs general accounting duties, processes invoices, and maintains financial records to support accurate reporting and payroll operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting clerical duties and maintain accounting files.
  • Enter data and proofread financial reports; record, classify and summarize invoices and purchase orders.
  • Process vendor invoices by comparing against PO and receiving information; prepare expenditure reports.
  • Maintain center records, ledgers, and journals to determine financial status.
  • Coordinate distribution of student allowances and payrolls; assist in payroll preparation and monthly reports.
  • Preserve a harassment-free center culture and demonstrate CSS and employability skills.

Hourly Range: $17.20

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for performing general accounting clerical duties; maintains accounting files.
  • Enters data into the computer and proofreads financial reports; records, classifies, and summarizes invoices, work orders, purchase orders, etc.
  • Processes vendor invoices by comparing invoice amount with the authorized purchase order and receiving information. Prepares expenditure report. Checks invoice activity against general ledger.
  • Maintains center records, ledgers, and journals as necessary to determine center financial status.
  • Coordinates the distribution of student allowances for living expenses and payrolls.
  • Compiles and maintains records necessary to prepare payroll register and all other data affecting the payroll.
  • Assists in assembling and compiling financial data as requested; Assists in compiling and preparing monthly financial reports.
  • Cultivates and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent required. Courses in general accounting and bookkeeping and one-year experience as a general accounting clerk preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
